Zohran Mamdani Pledges a 'New Era' for NYC in Maiden Speech
During an first day in the mayor's office, Zohran Mamdani vowed to “transform” the metropolis, ushering in “a fresh chapter” and an ambitious beginning to his term.
An Unprecedented Figure
The young figure, who just a year ago remained a virtually unknown state assemblyman, now stands as the city's first Muslim mayor. He additionally marked a milestone by being the inaugural to be sworn in using the Islamic holy text.
